French floatplane shot down January 1941??
Hi guys

A Fleet Air Arm pilot claimed a French floatplane shot down west of Sardinia sometime in January 1941.

Unlikely??

I was near to say ,it was perhaps the plane of Jean Chiappe, but not same date and he was in a civilian Dewoitine .

No way!
This happened on 27 November 1940 and it was not a floatplane but a land-based Farman 223.4.
