Squadron 615 - may 1940

Hello,

I have read that the RAF N°615 Squadron moved to France in 1940 with Gladiators. In april 1940, the A flight received some Hurricane's to replace them. Some of those Hurricanes were destroyed on the 10th May on the Le Touquet airfield. I have some pictures from those burned planes and i need some help for the planecodes.

Who delivered them the Hurricanes? Did hey had the time to add their new planecodes?

Did someone know the codes of those Hurricanes and the codes of the destroyed ones.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

Thierry

Can't help with the individual serial for each aircraft but the Squadron code for that time was 'KW'

Hi Thierry

Any chance of sharing the pictures with us. Perhaps we can help identify.

Cheers

Re: Squadron 615 - may 1940

Hello,

So, here is a picture from one of the Hurricanes destroyed. I have two of them always there on the 22 May 1940. I have read....4 destroyed....3 destroyed due to the attack!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Thierry

IMHO, I think that is almost impossible to identify - apart from that it was a Hurricane!! Sorry.

Cheers
Brian
