16 Sqn SAAF 1 Jun 44

Capt E A Barrett & Lt A J Haupt were both taken POW on Crete this day. Does anyone know their christian names, post war fates and individual code of Beaufighter NF641?

No Christian names I'm afraid Chris, but as per 85 years of SAAF (Winston Brent) the code was "G".

I also belive he is correct saying this was NE641 and not NF641. Most certainly "finger" trouble at your end.

Far from all codes are given in the book . If interested in what he gives, please revert back to me.

Cheers
Stig

Thanks Stig. Finger trouble was whoever wrote the serial on the Casualty Card. Letter G is interesting-if one looks closely at the photo I have of a smoking Beau with one engine stopped headed for Crete taken on this day, you can see the letter G. AHB confirm no christian names for the crew
