16 Sqn SAAF 1 Jun 44
Capt E A Barrett & Lt A J Haupt were both taken POW on Crete this day. Does anyone know their christian names, post war fates and individual code of Beaufighter NF641?

Re: 16 Sqn SAAF 1 Jun 44
No Christian names I'm afraid Chris, but as per 85 years of SAAF (Winston Brent) the code was "G".
I also belive he is correct saying this was NE641 and not NF641. Most certainly "finger" trouble at your end. Far from all codes are given in the book . If interested in what he gives, please revert back to me. Cheers Stig |

Re: 16 Sqn SAAF 1 Jun 44
Thanks Stig. Finger trouble was whoever wrote the serial on the Casualty Card. Letter G is interesting-if one looks closely at the photo I have of a smoking Beau with one engine stopped headed for Crete taken on this day, you can see the letter G. AHB confirm no christian names for the crew
