Homer Simpson (?) of fame
Hi all !
Sorry, surely not too important though ... According to Matt Groening, the creator of the Simpson family, Homer was named after his own father Homer Groening, who served for USAAF during WW2 as a bomber crew. Do we know WHICH UNIT he served? According to M. Groening his father during raids made films from aboard the a/c and after WW2 made filming his profession among other. thanx, nice sunday to all, FrankieS |

Re: Homer Simpson (?) of fame
Frankie,
According Homer Groening's obituary in The Seattle Times of 19 March 1996, he flew B-17's, also during D-Day, and was later recalled to fly transport planes in the Korean War. No further info in the article or elsewhere to help us out, for the moment that is... Regards, Leendert |

Re: Homer Simpson (?) of fame
That's pretty cool. I'd like to see some of the films he made.
