Spitfire BL614 - Nos 64 and 118 Squadrons

Surviving Spitfire BL614 was examined in years past, when the Hereford gate guard, and it is reported that the code letters SH of 64 Squadron and NK of 118 Squadron were visible by witness marks under the silver paint. The individual codes F and V were also noted. This fits well with the movement card details for this aircraft - March through to November 1943.

What we do not know is which individual code letter goes with which unit code.

Are there any persons out there please with log book/ORB details or even images that might be able to match up one of these code combinations up?

BL614 was in a batch of 222 Spitfire Vs taken over by 64 and then taken over by 118. In such cases it wasn't unusual (although not a rule) to retain the previous user's individul aircraft code letters and just replace the unit codes. Do you know the 222 code for it? Perhaps the code letter was retained in 64?

Unfortunatly no, but would very much like to. August 1942 to March 1943.
