Sergeant Appleby of 'X' Flight - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hello,

I've trying to find the first name of Sergeant Appleby of 'X' Flight, who claimed a Vichy-French D.520 on 15 June 1940 during the invasion of Syria (http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/commonwealth_appelby.htm).
Is there anyone who can help me with this?

Hi Hakan

I think you'll have a problem with Sgt Appleby - he has been the subject of several enquiries, without success.

I believe I was the one to initially 'discover' him many years ago when I was researching for Chris Shores - I located the X Flight file with the details of its combats - but no further details on him have come to light.
