Luftwaffe Data Base

I was wondering if there is a data base out there (perhaps a web site) that details US planes downed by Luftwaffe pilots (specifically in 1944). I've seen a site that list downed B-17's by serial number, but is there a site listing all aircraft types, dates downed and possibly location? Many thanks for any assistance.

Hello John

Is it possible for you to post a link to the site you mentioned which lists the downed B-17's by serial number?

This sounds very interesting indeed.

Regards Richard.

Re: Luftwaffe Data Base

The following is a previous post from 2007
NOTE: The following is a GOOGLE Search Engine function. Not sure it works with other search engines

Hello folks,

I am just passing on the following information that may assist in your searching. The website that I do most of my research on is www.luftwaffe.cz. If you go to this site and click on Experten this will give you the names of Luftwaffe Pilots and if you click on their site you will get a list of their claims. There are too many sites to search individually for a particular item. Things like Date/s, Squadrons, Aircraft types, Areas, Forces, and Names etc. It should be noted that all these searches must be followed by site:www.Luftwaffe.cz the word “site” must be included in the search and there must be no space between : and www. Example searches are in red

site:www.luftwaffe.cz (followed by as listed below or whatever you wish to enter)

12.9.1944 This searches incidents that occurred on the 12th September, 1944 Dates are entered Day.Month.Year. Single digit numbers are entered As single digits. 9 is entered as 9 and not 09. Years must be entered in full

USAAF Searches listings and shows USAAF where it occurs Other Forces such as RAF, RAAF, RCAF, RNZAF, SAAF etc may also be searched

Lancaster Searches for Lancaster losses. Other Aircraft types may also be searched

Germany Searches areas where Aircraft are lost. Other locations can be checked

42-31125 Will search for USAAF Aircraft No. 42-31125. Naturally other numbers can be entered I have been unable to find how to do partial number searches MACR’s show that correct # in this example should be 42-31135

“Suzy Sagtitz” Will search for the Aircraft name “Suzy Sagtitz” Other names may be searched

POW Show lists of POW’s. Names not always listed.

OW-O Lists Aircraft Squadron Number. Other numbers can be checked

“Flown by” Lists name of pilot where known

Geissman Lists pilots name if recorded. Other names can be checked.

Combination Searches can be done. Example Date/Aircraft Type; Date/Location; Location/ Aircraft Type; Etc

Kinds Regards

Ross
