8 August 1940...again!

Can anyone identify the two pilots of 610 Squadron on 8 August 1940 (R6765 and L1045) who were shot up at 11.30?

One forced-landed at Wittersham, the other returned to base.

I seem to have missed it in the ORB - or did I? I see that Peter Cornwell did not have the detail, either, in BOBTAN.

Maybe another question for Peter C?

Hi Andy,
Nothing in my 610 records name the aircrew, I have got the individual serial numbers if it helps, L1045 was DW-G and R6765 was DW-T.
Sorry I can't offer more.
Gerry

Re: 8 August 1940...again!

Thanks Gerry!

I suspect that 610's ORB does not have the detail. From memory I think it is one of the poorly completed ones. Peter C may be able to confirm whether or not the names are recorded. That will be another beer or three I shall owe him!!

Did you get the photo I e-mailed you today for Ken Wynn?

PS - Peter, thanks! Saw your post after writing this.

Re: 8 August 1940...again!

Andy,
I concur, 610's records are scant.
I did receive the picture for which I send many thanks (I have also mailed you).
I have been experiencing problems communicating with Ken Wynn via the usual sources.
I hope he is away on a trip, but I have not had a reply for about 6-8 weeks now.
All the best
Gerry

Thanks Gerry.

Am concerned that all has gone so quiet with Ken Wynn.
