Aircraft Codes, Modelling Project

Hello All
I am a new member just registered.
I am underway with a modelling project regarding aircraft which came down on the Isle of Wight (England) during World War 2 and need assistance identifying individual aircraft code letters.
Should I run this as as thread under this topic or would posting under individual squadrons be better?.
I have identified around 25% of aircraft, still a lot to find.

Starting with RAF 1 Squadron (where Else) Codes JX-?

Hawker Hurricane IIC
Two aircraft lost in collision over Ryde, IOW 22 Nov 1941
BD940 Pilot: Flt Sgt L J Travis Killed
Z3899 Pilot Flt Sgt D F Perrin Baled Out, Injured

22 Squadron Codes OA-?
Vickers Vilderbeest
1 Aircraft lost in the sea near Ryde 1 Aug 1940
K6408 Pilot: P/O A Bailey Killed,
Aircraftsman R S Budd Injuered

23 Squadron Codes YP-?
Bristol Blenheim 1F
1 Aircraft lost, ran out of fuel crashed Brading Down
L6686 Pilot: Flt Sgt Loveridge Baled out OK
2 Crewmen: Killed

Many more to follow but that will do for now.

Thanks

Pete

Re: Aircraft Codes, Modelling Project

For Bomber Codes this site is useful:-
http://www.lancaster-archive.com/bc_sqncodes.htm
and this may help with the rest...
http://www.btinternet.com/~lee_mail/rafcodes.html

Don't forget to double check with other sites to ensure no changes mid year etc!!
Edit: Doesn't the Isle of Wight Crashes website show the Hurricanes as Mk I's both of 1 Squadron?

Re: Aircraft Codes, Modelling Project

Thanks but I already have the squadron codes it is the individual aircaft codes I am after.
I believe both Hurricanes were MkIIs.
A 1 Squadron MkI did crash on the Island, P3172 on the 11 August 1940. Pilot P/O J A Davey, this I have as 'B' however the only evidence of this is from a recent painting and confirmation of this code would also be welcome.

Thanks Pete
