Re: In Holland found
Remi,
According to Coen Cornelissens book "Van Grasmat to Fliegerhorst", page 397 and Adrie M.Roding in "De Bevrijding van Enschede", page 150, the plane was shot down at Saturday April 7th, 1945 at 13.30 hrs, by British AA guns from the airfield. The pilot had the intention to land at Twente Airbase B.106. The pilot was killed in the crash. The pilot has never been identified and his name and unit are still not known. At that time, the area had just been liberated by British troops. This crash has as ID T5523A in our database. If someone could shine some light on this case it is much appreciated. Jaap |

Re: In Holland found
Hello Remi, John and Jaap,
on the 7th of April1945 was only the "Sonderkommando Elbe" and some planes of the JG7 in the air. I work at loses and missing pilots from the 7th of April. Some German pilots are still missing since that day. Have you any further information? Maybe as p.m. Best wishes Rüdiger |
