Pls help identify a Staffelkapitaen of JG 26 (BoB period)

Hi everyone,

I'm just reading "The Mystery of Olga Chekhova" by Henry Beevor. The author mentions that one of the "intimate friends" of that famous Russian actress (and soviet spy) was a capitan nicknamed "Jep"... "a squadron commander in General Adolf Galland's fighter wing", whom she met in autumn 1940.
Any idea what his name, assignment and subsequent fate was? I'm very curious...

I think that this StK was Oblt. Walter Schneider, killed on 22/12/1941.
