In the loss lists this accident happened on 18. August 1941 and involved Ju 88A-5 W.Nr. 746 A6+HH of 1.(F)/120, then based at Sola airfield near Stavanger, Norway.

Faroer is the correct location. The plane hit a mountain side.

1./506 converted from He 115 to Ju 88 in the spring of 1941, so I would have noe information about this as no longer a seaplane unit.

Re: F120 Unknown loss 23.aug.1941

Bonjour Remi

I have a lot of informations about the Junkers 88, who crased to a mountain called Lokkan by the village Norðdepli on Faroe Islands in 1941. I have lived 26 years near this village and have been to the crashside. I have even contacted a daughter to WOP Unteroffizier Herbert Schlichting and got a lot of informations and pictures.

I only don't know doc. Aik 450/41. Do you have a copy?

Please contact me olaf-berg@mail.dk and give me your email-adress, so I can send you pictures etc.

J'espére vous écrire bienôt.

Mille amitiés

Olaf Berg Nielsen
