Friends of No.11 (Fighter) Group Operations Rooms
As some of you may know RAF Uxbridge in Middlesex closed as an RAF base on 31st March 2010 and the site is to be redeveloped in to homes and social housing. However the historic underground Operations Room of Battle of Britain fame is to be preserved with adjacent building and BoB memorial.
In order to assist with keeping the bunker and Battle of Britain museum within it, available for future generations to visit, a support group 'Friends of No.11 (Fighter) Group Operations Rooms' has just been formed and Chris Wren the curator (voluntary) and myself are calling on all those of you who live near enough to join and help keep one of the few remaining Battle of Britain sites alive!
