Rare Spitfire Colour Photo - When/Where?...
Stumbled on this photo and thought someone may know when/where they were taken. They were shot by LIFE magazine possibly summer 1941? Spit still in brown/green with early spinner...Mk II perhaps????

I think this has been discussed here before?
I suspect it is probably a 54 Squadron machine, but thats as much as I can offer I'm afraid. Others may have better ideas about this quite well-known photo. Thanks for posting it. |
