Hey,
I am looking for infromation about a shot down of a Ju88 (Aufklärungsstaffel 1.(F)/33) on the 18th of March 1944 in the early mornig NW of Oran (Island Alboran). My grandvater was in that plane and I am interested which RAF units are engaged. May be I can get further information about the incidence and location. Cheers Stefan |

Re: Ju88 loss 18th March 1944 NW Oran
Hi Stefan,
It was not a RAF unit but a French one. Your grand father's bomber was downed by three P-39 Airacobra belonging to the GC 3/6 Roussillon based in Oran La Senia. Lt Marcel Rouquette a very experienced pilot leaded the patrol and gave a precise account of the combat. The Junker crashed at sea 70 miles of the Habibas Island. Cheers, Guy |
