Bonjour Thomas,
The BA-MA document/microfilm I have read at the Freiburg Archives indicates: - Towards Bourges, France - Plane hit the ground involuntarily - Best regards from France, Frederic |

Bonjour Frederic,
Thanks for your reply. Ah :-) I think it's your website were i found: "Percute le sol involontairement". (http://www.fred.henoff.free.fr/liste_Tues_German.html) I don't know if it is save to assume that it was just a landing accident and not because of fighter involvement or damaged return from a mission. Best regards from Holland, Thomas |

Right Thomas, it’s my website.
"Percute le sol involontairement" is the French translation of the German information I found at Freiburg. It is perhaps not necessarily a fighter claim because I have many involuntary crashes on or around Bourges and Avord airfields. About your loss remember that the fourth Gruppen were often planned for training of the aircrews before being posted to an operational Gruppe. By the way, You have interesting things regarding this unit? Best regards, Frederic |

Re: He111 12./KG53 crashed on Juli 28, 1941 in Bourges, France
You are right Frédéric, about the fourth Gruppen. Kiehl's loss list says that the plane crashed because of "Absturz" and not "Unfall". I know that this still doesn't say much about the reason behind their crash/loss.
Will send you a PM later today. Kind regards, Thomas |
