Re: 4./JG 27 Staffelkapitans Request

Referring to our notes, we developed a list of the Stakas for 4./JG 27. This was then compared against Prien's list in his II./JG 27 volume. There were only very minor differences so we must conclude that we have missed no-one. To answer your question, the last two Stakas were:

Lt. Gernot Stein (08.44 - 27.12.44 WIA).
Lt. Willi Trabert (01.45 - ?).

We trust that this is satisfactory.

Re: 4./JG 27 Staffelkapitans Request

Thank you very much Doug, that is spot on. I asked as there is a signature in a soldbuch to a groundcrew member of 4./JG 27 with the signers title of Staffelkapitan. I thought that it started with a 'F' but that was more down to his way of writing the 'T'. To fill in the date - he has also signed an entry for the 5th May 1945 as Steffelkapitan so he was Staffelkapitan until at least then.
