1939 Italy - Lw aircraft
Hi guys
I posted the following a couple of years ago but received no response. I'm hoping for some information/comment this time, please. On 17 November 1939, a Do17P of 1(F)/123 and a He111 of 1/KG51 came down in northern Italy due to severe storms; the latter crew were killed/injured, but the reconnaissance crew (Vrancken/Mende/Pietras) were unhurt. Were they interned? Did other German, British, French aircraft violate Italy's airspace pre-June 1940; if so, did any land/force-land? If so, were crews interned? Cheers Brian |
