Please help with GQ loss records for Ju-87D-1s w.n. 2439 and 2573.

Ju 87D-1 WNr.2439 Ofw. Erwin Klein (F) / Uffz. Franz Steinberger (Bf), II./St.G. 77 Both KIA 17.July 1942 by Flak. Fl.Pl. Smolensk, 100% loss

Ju 87D-1 WNr.2573, crew not named, II./St.G. 77, 80% damaged by enemy fire on 16.July 1942 near Woronesh

St.G.77 is one of those units which rarely included Kennung details. GRM

Oops... lost over own AF by Flak? Crashed on emergency landing or friendly fire? Nikita, do you maybe know details?

For 2439 NVM gives 19 July 1942, 5./St.G 77 and location 2 km südlich Bahnhof Otroshka, 8 km nordöstlich Woronesh.

Joerg, both planes were found near Woronezh, so Smolensk as location is definitely a mistake.

Thank you, Nikita, I see.

I think we talk about "Ostroshkij" in the attached map-fragment.

Some additional information: The railway line leading into Woronesh from NNE was (is?) a double line and supposedly was the major supply route for soviet forces in the area later called Woronesh front.
