ju88 loss 21.3,1945

ju188D-2 wnr 180444 lost 21.3.1945 listed as MIA , I finally got poor copy of record card of crew member, loss as friendly fire near Trieste but another source says RAF Mossie

JU188D-2 wnr 170622 A3+TD ? . ? date of loss Italy due to nightfighter
Both A/C from KG200 4 Staffel ( Carmen), Where was this located ??

The night of 21.3.1945 KG200 had 4 a/c on ops from Carmen, according to
relative of MIA from 180444. Is it possible these two aircraft were lost on same night. Relative was told that only one of 4 got back to Carmen, yet can only find one loss listed on 21.3.1945. The 170622 loss doesnt have date but nightfighter as cause.

If indeed nightfighter losses, can anyone tell which units involved. Im in Uk on tues and was hoping to go to Kew and try to get info, anything to narrow down Nightfighter units would be appreciated, have 8 hour stop in heathrow !

thanks Robert Reid

Re: ju88 loss 21.3,1945

Claim was by 256 Squadron, F/O Scollan.

"The hostile recrossed the coast, heading northeast, and after a 270mph chase they made contact in the Pola-Trieste area. After visual confirmation they opened fire, setting both engines ablaze and recognising it as a Ju 188 by the light of the flames. Scollan's third kill, it fell into the sea and broke up about three miles offshore at 2245. Likely of 4./KG 200 (W.Nr.180444), which went missing over the Italian war zone. The fate of Hptm. Heinz Domack and his four crew remains officially unknown. Crew were Hptm. Damack Heinz F MIA, Fw. Buchheister Walter B MIA, Uffz. Jakobs Heinz Bf MIA, Fw. Panke Fritz Bs MIA, Uffz. Rottstedt Hans Bs MIA"

Edit - meh, as per the link credit for the above should go to perennial internet good-guys Nick Beale and Ferdinando D'Amico.
