Vangenuai technique 103 Sqdn.RAF ?????

Hello,

Has everyone ever heard of the 'Vangenuai technique' as referred to in the ORB of 103 Sqdn.RAF, 20th December 1942 ?
How it worked or was meant to work, cannot be derived from the context unfortunately...

A search in Google resultet in zero hits (!). Hoping that someone might respond, many thanks in advance!

Re: Vangenuai technique 103 Sqdn.RAF ?????

Hi Marcel,

You could not find the reference because it should be spelled "Wanganui".
See this site for an explanation:

http://www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/target.html

FYI Wanganui is a place in New Zealand.

Regards,

Mark

Re: Vangenuai technique 103 Sqdn.RAF ?????

Hello Mark,

Thank you for this superfast and most clearifying answer !!! A good friend of me recently returned from the Nat.Archives London and copied from the ORB pages this word, apparantly written down phonetically then because the entries itself are type machine written.

Now that I have the right spelling, searching for more details will be much easier!

Again thank you very much! All the best,

Marcel Hogenhuis

Hello SES,

Knowing the right spelling, I searched again in Google and had an immediate fix to your site which explained a lot, as could be expected from you! Nevertheless thank you for your help!

All the best, Marcel / Venlo
