Post Ju 87 shot down near Rouen 08/06/40

Hi,

I have read that there were British soldiers fighting around Isneauville, a small town near Rouen, on 8th june 1940 and thouse soldiers might have shot down a Stuka. Does anybody know if there was any Ju 87 lost or damaged around Rouen this day ?

cheers.

Re: Ju 87 shot down near Rouen 08/06/40

Hi
In loss lists I have found a Ju 87 R-1 (T6 + ??) from II/StG 2. This plane was shot down in an air battle near Rouen. Both crew-members was killed.

But, on this day the Luftwaffe was lost another 6 Ju 87 B from I/StG 2, II/StG 2, III/StG 2 and IV(St)/LG 1, maybe in the same area ?

best wishes
JoMe

I spent some time living near there, close to Martainville/Ry, and I tried to find out more about it. The closest I came to it was a location in a wood at La Muette.

I was told that a Gendarme (retired perhaps?) near Ry had researched the crashes in that area but I never managed to track him down.

Re: Ju 87 shot down near Rouen 08/06/40

Hi

Thanks for your replies. There are two villages named La Muette in this area : the one near Isneauville, the second near Boos. But it seems that this Ju 87R of the II./StG 2 was shot down by a pilot of the GC I/5, near Boos and not by British soldiers near Isneauville. Nevertheless I would be interest by the names of its crew.

As a consequence, the Stuka I'm looking for is probably one of the 6 others... How could I get informations about the missions of the units this day ?

Cheers.

Re: Ju 87 shot down near Rouen 08/06/40

those stuka's were they total loss or belly landings , iask this coz a few years ago i found a ruder from a stuka by a private person close to chartres. he told me that piece was longtime used for a shed wall.
the stuka were it came from wasn't so much damaged.
So maybe it came from one of those that were shot down there?
thanks anyway,
phil
