I am looking for information on a recce pilot loss the 21st December 1944
10th PRG 12TRS
2nd Lt Biesemeier Eugene B.(KIA)O-820207

Any idea of the serial number ? And if a MACR exist?

Microfilm A0905 unreadable around frame 0655 and after

Maybe accidently killed by a mine on the ground

My father was a pilot with the 12th. I'll check with a contact to see if he has any info on Lt. Biesemeier.

I've also browsed the cumulative loss list but found no operational loss for an F-6 (if that's the type?) Lt Biesemeier was flying on the 21st Dec 1944. I assume it was on a mission, hence KIA?

Biesemeier is mentioned just once on airforcehistoryindex.org with an accident on 29 June 1944, which turned out to be a forced landing at Key Field, MS with A-36 Apache 42-83741 (given as Riesemeier on aviationarcheology)
Given the type of machine here, I think he flew the F-6 in 10 PRG.


Biesemeier graduted in 1938 from Freeport High School, Freeport, IL and enlisted on 24 Apr 1942 at Chicago, IL.

As far as I can decrypted the microfilm , he explodes on a ground mine while visiting a place , so most probably an non operational accident .

True, report appears to be not very readable. Received this message from a friendly person:

RE Biesemeier - - Microfilm Roll A0905 - 12th TRS - - Summary shows 1) LOSSES IN ACTION - Lt Eugene B. BIESEMEIER - Killed in Action - 21 December 1944; 2) Narrative is impossible to read on the Film Reader screen and almost impossible to read on the printouts but they contain his name and the words "anti-tank mine" and "instantly killed." No ID of aircraft.

Consclusion that he was killed in a ground accident is plausible.
