FlüG 1 loss on 20 May 1944

Hello,

I have a note saying that on 20 May 1944 Fw. Rudolf Holzel of 2./FlüG 1 was killed in a crash due to bad weather near Strba, Slovakia.

Can someone confirm the above and add the aicraft details (type, Wnr, damaged percentage, possible other crew) ?

By the way I did not find him in the Volksbund database

Thanks in advance

Laurent

Thanks Khorat for these details.

An you're right, he is on the Volksbund database. I tried "Holzel" and "Hoelzel", the latter was returning all Hölzel results in the former version of the DB. It is no more true, you have to type "Hölzel".

By the way there is a place calle Strba (as in my original note) about 15 km west of Poprad, Slovakia, as can be seen on the map below:

Deutschendorf is German Name for Slovak Town Poprad. Štrba is correct name (not Strba).

Hello Michal,

Actually I had the correct name, but with my French keyboard I don't know how to produce the first letter...
