AAF pay
I've looked without much success for a comprehensive list of AAF pay by rank preferably from PFC to colonel, with additions for flight pay and overseas pay. The most I've found was a short accounting of tech sergeant and captain which, IIRC, amounted to about $200 and $350 respectively (presumably c. 1944.) Any internet or published sources would be helpful. Thanks to all.

Re: AAF pay
Gunther,
Perhaps this link is helpful: http://www.91stbombgroup.com/91st_info/raggedinfo.html Scroll down to near the end and you'll have a 1944 USAAF list. There also was the Servicemen's Dependents Allowance Act 1942 that dealt with the families of the men. Regards, Leendert |

Re: AAF pay
That certainly helps Leendert, thank you.
If the pay scale seems on the cheap side, remember that to adjust for inflation we need to multiply X12 or more! |

Re: AAF pay
Wasn't it the British who said that Americans (mostly AAF types) were "overpaid, oversexed and over here" ?

Re: AAF pay
John: In answer to your question:
YOUBETCHA! BTW, for 2010 values of the wartime pay, multiply X 12. |
