Italian units on the Eastern front in July 1942
Gentlemen,
Who can shed some light on the activities of Italian Macchi 200's units on the Don bend in July, 20-31, 1942? Claims and losses will be mostly appreciated. TIA.

Nikita,
please note that the three aircraft and men lost on 26 july (all prisonners) were not combat losses: they went out of fuel. In italian document russian aircraft are indicated as LaGG or LaGG 1. Best Gianandrea

Hello Nikita,
according to "Ali sulla steppa" of Nicola Malizia, on 25 july 9 Macchi 200s took off at 10:10. The Sottotenente Gino Lionello was wounded at the left leg by two 7,62 bullets but he returned regularly to base. Best regards Marco
