Hi guys

I understand the above force-landed on Crete on 16 October 1944.

Has anyone details, please? Pilot identity and fate?

Cheers

Re: Spitfire IX MA526

Hello Brian,

85 years of SAAF has 10 Sqdn SAAF and pilot as Lt. JO Brown (safe).
Spitfire International has Brown picked up unhurt by a Commando unit and returned to Sqdn 3rd November 44.
10 Sqdn SAAF had no squadron code, but the a/c did serve earlier with 1 Sqdn SAAF as AX-V, then later with 94 Sqdn RAF before returning to 10 Sqdn SAAF before the loss, so may still have had 94 Sqdn code "GO".
