Captain John Stewart

On 6 September 1943 this pilot shot down a transport plane of the Japanese Army Air Force. Does anyone know which transport units were flying in China at this time, and what they flew? Sources indicate that both the crewmen were killed and so perhaps this was confirmed on the ground?

regards

Keith
