Kurt Welter's confirmed victories

I was wondering if anyone had information about what claims Welter made that can be confirmed, especially his Mosquito claims. I know his claims are rather controversial, so if anyone had a list or any information, that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Kurt Welter's confirmed victories

Hi

Drop me a personnal e.mail and I'll forward his list. You are correct about his claims being controversial, I believe he flew with the Wildsau, and I copuld be wrong, but single seater Me262's, i.e he had no wittnesses and was one of those that took advantage of this situation. I believe he was very dis-liked amongst his comrades, who would not even hear of his name being spoken post war!

Kind Regards

Johannes

many claims are confirmed and many are not but indeed by other pilots, not withstanding he was an excellent pilot with a large ego. He did not have a typical mindset of the standard Nachtjagd pilot. Theo Boiten and Rod McKenzie have done albeit a brief, but excellent job of covering him and his staffel in their two volume history but there will be more to come upon another future release. As to Kurt's dislike by other personnel that is subject to criticism.

best

Thank you everyone for the information. I would definitely love to read a book about Welter.
