F/O William Stanwell Griffiths + 05.12.1944

Hi,

Can anyone supply us with further information regarding the loss of William on the 05.12.1944? At this time we only have the CWWG Commision details regarding this officer which tells us that he was flying with No.541 (PR) Squadron when lost. Any further information regarding this loss would be greatly appreciated by us all.

Regards

Melvin

Hi Melvin

Griffiths was flying Spitfire PR.XI PL882

He took off from Benson at 10:28 to cover targets in the following areas: Duren, Cologne, Solingen, Neuss, Heinsburg and Dusseldorf.

He called up on R/T to say his engine had cut, nothing further was heard from him.

Best Regards

Andy Fletcher
