Regia Aeronautica serial numbers
Gentlemen,
Italian Historians Andrea Curami and Gianni Gamberini self-published a book entitled, "Catalogo delle Matricole Militari della Regia Aeronautica, 1923-1943", in 1992. Does anyone have a copy of this Work? Thank You. Anthony. |

Re: Regia Aeronautica serial numbers
I don't have the book you requested, but I do have a few others including Courage Alone.
Which serial numbers are you looking for? Regards, |

Re: Regia Aeronautica serial numbers
Hi, Revi 16...
In reality, I do have most of the known serial numbers; However, this book is the most detailed. It has comments on whether the aircraft that were given serial numbers were actually constructed, dates of delivery, etc. From what I understand, it isa very comprehensive study of over 120 pages. |

Re: Regia Aeronautica serial numbers
I also was not aware of this publication, sounds interesting. Would it have the W.Nr. of the German aircraft delivered to Italy? If anyone could confirm, it would be greatl appreciated.
Best Regards, Artie Bob |

Re: Regia Aeronautica serial numbers
My colleague, co-author and friend Gabriele Valentini owns a copy of that 1992 work (personally donated to him by the authors), but the reason for its almost "underground" existence is due to the fact that the authors (legitimally, we're not arguing on that) put these words in bold characters in the foreword:
"RESERVED AND NOT FOR SALE Only for internal use and that cannot be used or reproduced in any form and in any way without the combined and written authorization of both the authors" As you can easily understand, the 50 copies only of it have in reality circulated "unofficially" though the years, but certainly those clearly stated limitations haven't done much to give full scope to its usefulness and to invite the research world to get advantage of such painstaking research. At any rate, such was (and AFAIK, is) the authors' will and we can only respect that.

Hello Artie,
I would like to let you know that I have sent you a PM (just in case the 12 O'Clock High forum does not generate an automatic warning) All the best, Marcel
