Unconfirmed crash of P-47

Hi erveybody,
I'm looking for info on a P-47 crash on 06. Feb 1945 near Obervolkach Germany. The pilot's name is Alfred C. Cooper. I have some numbers but they do not tell me anything:

0-720797

T43 44 0

Any help is apprechiated,

Re: Unconfirmed crash of P-47

I think you will find that 0-720797 is his service number

Alfred C Cooper was a member of 356FS 354FG

He previously had a Take Off Accident on 05-01-45 in P-47D 44-20538

I have found a MACR (12281) for a 354 FG P-47 44-20255 (the only 354 FG loss I could find on the same day) on 06-02-45 but no pilot is listed it might be his aircraft.

Prehaps someone else could check

Paul

Thank you so much Paul for the info. This will help me in establishing wether this crash is a hoax or reality.

Thanks again,

Norbert

Re: Unconfirmed crash of P-47

I have MACR12281 as being Alfred C Cooper Killed in Action on that date. As you say, 354th FG 356th FS and P-47D 44-20255 coded AJ-N

Peter

This is jsut unbelievable, Thank you so much, I never thought I would solve this puzzle. Thank you Peter and Paul for helping me in this respect.

I'm reserarching the crashes in the Unterfranken area in WW II and this really helped a lot.

Regards,

Norbert
