Ed,

The book 'British Aircraft Armament Vol 1' by R. Wallace Clark shows a picture (American Aircraft Gun Turrets page 170) of a Martin turret adapted to mount two 12-bore shotguns. Gunners practised traversing and turret manipulation by firing at clay pigeons !

i doupt double trap was known that time...

sorry, inapropriate joke

but it interest me also seriously..I have read that gunners trained deflection shooting in the air but also on the ground using skeet shooting range...but never heard of trap range, although it is also usefull I guess...
