http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=6213855063 and a number of others record aircraft of FFS A/B 23.
I seem to remember a similar series being offered a few months ago.

Re: Photos 10-1

Hi,

I think the car is Alfa-Romeo from 1935.

Sincerely, Balazs Garai

Can anyone read the last letter of the Stammkennzeichen of the second Ar 96 in echelon? I believe the first three letters are P I + Q.

Re: Photos 10-1

Rabe,

My first reaction is PI+QL

Although the second plane in http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=6213855414 looks like PI+QR

I was correct there were three photos on or about the 12/09/05 which look like they are from the same or a similar series - possibly from the same collection. In all three shots an Ar 96 with code PH+PX is visible, and in one an Ar 96 can be seen with a code beginning VL+??.

Rabe,

Found a further one from early August this year that has a clear Ar 96 of FFS A/B 23 with code PI+QO.

Re: Photos 10-1

Gruß Gott Andy!

Thanks for your reaction to my post about the Ar 96 SKZ. Interesting that your first reaction was exactly the same as mine: Hummmmm, well, looks like P I + Q L, doesn't it? Then, looking at the other photograph, the "L" shifted to look like a letter with horizontal elements at top and maybe bottom, perhaps an "E," "P," or as you've said, an "R.." I believe the two photos in Ed's post of 01.10.05 are the same airplane, same time, same formation . . . but what's that final letter?!

Thanks again! Please let me know if you've further thoughts.

RA

Re: Photos 10-1

Zoomed in in photoshop, and adjusted the contrast, you can definitely make out the white outline around the letter R,

Chris
