Seeking info on He59 coded D-A+HIK

Hello,

Have recently entered a photo of D-A+HIK into the EOE DB. The He59 is on a quay in white SeeNotFlugKdo markings, so has to be prior to about 8.40, when these a/c were camouflaged. According to Peter Cornwell, "Web search gives this as WNr.1522 StKZ DS+KA operated by SeeNotFlugKdo.2 and SeeNotStaffel 4. No other details known. I do not see it mentioned at all in the KTB of SeeNotFlugKdo.2 (August – December 1940)."

Does anyone know where this a/c might have been serving and what its ultimate fate was?

Thanx,

Re: Seeking info on He59 coded D-A+HIK

Sis,

The top url does show the same a/c but this is not the photo. The photos of it in formation in the white SNFKdo markings can't be Africa, as the unit would have repainted their a/c in camouflage colors by about 8.40, IIRC.

Thanks for posting this.

Regards,

Re: Seeking info on He59 coded D-A+HIK

Built in a series of 20 He 59D by Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in Rostock, I have a note that the airframe was tested by E-Stelle Travemunde in April 1940. I also have a picture of this aircraft in Cherbourg harbour along with D-ADAI (of which I have no details at all).
