SOE Operation 13.03.1944

Hello all !

Here is - I at least find -a very moving story:
http://www.amazon.com/Hannah-Senesh-...tt_at_ep_dpt_1

On 13.03.1944 a SOE RAF (i guess*) a/c brought - among others -
a hungarian jewish resistance fighter Hannah Senesh to Yugoslavia
for a Hungary mission, probably to free allied POWs there.
Do we know more about the RAF part of this SOE mission (a/c involved etc.) ?
Generally, is there any good book available that covers ALL missions of SOE, where RAF was involved, like maybe a diary and short description of mission ?

Thank you all in advance and best wishes for christmas (a bit early maybe),
FrankieS

Check out this site for a PDF showing all SOE losses, both RAF and USAAF. Worth printing out or saving to your hard drive. It's about halfway down the page.

Thank you kaki !

Extremely interesting, also with sources, will look up the mentioned books.

Loss 14/15.9.43 Halifax Mk II JD269 NF-Q even found it´s way into
Goebbels private diary:
Goebbels, Joseph - Tagebucheintrag vom 19. September 1943
19. September 1943 (Sonntag) Gestern:
"Bei einem in der Gegend von Esbjerg abgeschossenen Feindflugzeug wurde eindeutig festgestellt, daß es zur Agentenversorgung bzw. Agentenabsetzung bestimmt war. Man fand in der Maschine ganz besonders raffinierte Sprengmittel und Brandsätze. Die im Flugzeug befindlichen Zivilisten waren mit deutschen Pässen ausgerüstet und hatten nicht weniger als 200 000 Dollar bei sich."

bye,
FrankieS
