Uffz. Joseph Scheidler 4/ZG1 Bellylanded Me 110 24.02.43

Hi all,

I am searching for the name of Scheidler's R/Op for this incident. The details I have so far is Me 110D-2 Wnr.3394 80% damaged after crash landing on the 24.02.1943 in Russia.

Any further details would be really appreciated!

Regards

Melvin

There was no Namentliche Verlustmeldung for the Bordfunker of Scheidler for this mission, so unless you have access to Scheidler's Flugbuch, I think it will be almost impossible to find out who he flew with.

Hi

The same day as Josef Schiedler was injured(24th February 1943), Bordfunker Uffz Franz Newesely was injured, both of 4./ZG1. Cannot find any other 4./ZG1 losses for this date, so assume this is the answer you require.

Kind Regards

Johannes

Thanks Johannes, I have asked the relative of Scheidler if he has the Flugbuch to confirm, but I would think your assumption is correct, thanks for your effort, it is appreciated.

Hi
Regarding Neweseley the werknummer of his Bf110 was 5225(S9+UM) whereas Scheider's was 6154(S9+IN) therefore there must of been two losses that same day for 4./Zg1, and one crew member from each aircraft was injured!

A bit of wrong information here, Johannes.

Bf 110 G-2, S9+IN, W. Nr. 6154 was recorded on 8th October 1943 south of Brest as having Pilot Lt. Gerhard Thiel killed, and Bordfunker Uffz. Josef Schneider wounded on a combat mission.

Completely different date and different theatre of operations.
