Hi there Gang,

I just tried to visit Neil's great Falkeeins Luftwaffe blog.... and found it closed! What happens? Any chance to see it again; it's content is much appreciated.

I spoke with Neil today and due to a mixture of work and other Luftwaffe commitments, he's decided to close his blogs...

I've read that he copied (many - some?) private jet aircraft pics in the German "Flugzeugforum" without the approval of the owners. One of the owners wrote an appeal from him to Google and got the answer from Google the contents of the blog were deleted. They have an thread in Flugzeugforum regarding the violation of copyright in the FalkeEins - Blog. Maybe the reason for him to close the other blogs too.

Hello Marc, Pete, Jörg, Paul...

yes I wrote a small piece on the Lechfeld families day back in September I think which caused a bit of upset on that forum - forgot to link back basically..pretty minor league stuff, especially as flugzeugforum members have willingly granted permission for re-use of pics/material in the past. Someone complained. I removed the offending post. Nothing at all to do with why the blogs have disappeared- basically I can't devote the time and effort required to blog any more.. I now have 6 large Luftwaffe unit history volume translations under my belt and have contributed majorly to a host of other projects/books. Trying to keep the blogs going as well got to be a bit too much..

ummmmmmmmm...if the photos were WW2 German pics, no one has copyright on them, even if they own the original. All German items related to WW2 that normally would have had copyriight lost it in 1945 due to the enemy property act...this includes books, manuscripts, manuals, photos, and anything bearing a swastika..
