Defiant aces just about to be published by Osprey-Chris Thomas' book is the definite article on the Typhoon & Tempest (plus the 2 TAF book) whilst you would be better asking about the Comet on another site

Why should this book be "definitive" over Francis Mason's Typhoon/Tempest book? I've seen both and Thomas's book is definitely woefully inadequate on the engineering/production/handling/performance aspects of the Typhoon/Termpest.

Defininte article in my opinion whilst I respect your opinion as well. What I would say us such books have already been written so for someone to write new ones from scratch would be an interesting & risky proposition

Re: Defiant, Tempest/Typhoon and Comet

That is true, unless the author takes a very different perspective. In this case the perspective would be the engineering point of view with e.g. thorough analysis of the tail problems. A generic work would be redundant.
