Identification of Luftwaffe Flieger

Hi,

Please see postcard of Luftwaffe fliger below.

On the back is some writing that is difficult to read.

Does it read something abiut the 'West Coast' could this together with date lead to a possible identity?

Thanks for looking

Rick

Re: Identification of Luftwaffe Flieger

Hello Rick,

it looks like
"Zum Andenken an deinen Walter von Westkamp - Gut Westkamp 8.8.42"

"In memory of your Walter von Westkamp - Westkamp Manor 8.8.42".

HTH

Carl

Hi Rick,
The VDK list a Gefr Walter Westkamp, 09.09.24, Ibbenbüren, but his date of death is given as 29.03.1944, Ukraine, it also gives two other Westkamp's from the same town.
Regards
Joe

Re: Identification of Luftwaffe Flieger

Rick, Not certain how to take the date, is it the date he was killed or the date the photo was taken? Is there any other info. with the photo,

Regards

Hi Brian,

Afraid not. Perhaps we won't be able to identify him.
