Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

Do you know that for fact Stig? Reason I ask is that there is varying opinion over on the LEMB as to whether the original will be updated and the errors corrected - or it will just be a straight forward reprint. I fear the latter... but I'll be over the moon if new emblems are added and the few errors in the 1998 edition corrected

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

Thank you, Peter. I'll be sending off an e-maill to Crecy to hopefully clarify things.

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

My attempt to e-mail Crecy failed. They give their address as info@crecy.co.uk

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

Well Peter

I am not privy to either Crecy nor Barry Ketley, but if it is a simple reprint, why take so long? And if it was a reprint why then leave Mark Rolfe's name out? Not sure where I picked up it was to be a new edition and not just a reprint, but admittedly Crecy is not all roses. Their new Stuka book by Peter Smith is a disaster where even a non-specialist like me drown in errors.

Anyway they have managed a new front cover, so I hope it is not just wishful thinking . A wonderful idea just struck me, buy one Peter and report back if I was wrong or not, ehh...? Nah, just kidding you of course!

Cheers
Stig

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

If you look closely, Mark Rolfe's name does appear on the cover:

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

I remember when Barry left Hikoki Publications he founded Flight Recorder. Do not know whether Barry still in charge or what happened since looks they do not have a webpage anymore. Did Crecy has got FR?

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

Quite correct Ed

Looks like I have to take a step downhill with regard to the book.

Anyway let's see what happens after publication and if someone reviews it

Cheers

Re: Luftwaffe Emblems ?

I totally agree with your sentiments in post #6 Stig and I too hope Flight Recorder/Crecy have used this opportunity to update the subject matter. However, I still have an uneasy feeling that a straight forward reprint/repackaging will appear, just as they've done with previous Hikoki titles and that will most definitely be a missed opportunity...
