Captured Bf 109 G-6 Indentity

Gents,

I have a photo of an apparently intact Bf 109 G-6 captured in the Med coded "ge.16+~", WNr.19144. Can anyone provide further information on this kite?

In advance, many thanks.

Cheers,

David

David et all,

I have no record of this aircraft. Are you certain this aircraft is a G-6? All others near this Werknummer are WNF-built G-4s (many of which were later converted to G-12s).

Hi,

regarding the markings it could be from 9/JG27. I have photos of gelbe 16+~ G-6TR W.Nr.16531 seized by allied troops in Tunis in may 1943. Perhaps you should show us the photo to make the identification easier.

Regards

Robert

I believe this was the BF-109G-6 captured and flown by the 325th FG nicknamed "Hermann"

Hi Dave,

Long time no hear! If you send me a scan of the image I'll identify the one-o-nine for you.
