Spitfire
Hi,
I'm trying to identify this Spitfire. Code could be QJ - U, serial ends on 79. Many thanks in advance. Peter |

Re: Spitfire
Peter, I looked more closely on the picture and in my files, and I now believe that this is IIa P7379, 19 Sqn, lost on 27.06.41. The squadron used QV code. The aircraft on the picture is surely MkII, but what confused me is the statement in old edition of FC losses by Franks that the pilot of this aircraft, P/O Andrews was MIA. It couldn't be so as the aircraft is almost intact. However, Andrews is not listed in CWGC database and it seems that Andrews was in fact captured.
