Smile Information about a Luftaffe plane...

Hello

I get information about a german plane crash south of Aisne in France.
The city is Montigny l'Allier.
Plane was shoot down during the harvest (some bundle of hay burnt).
I could be July 443 or 44.
It was early in the morning ( 6h30 AM LT)
I found some small parts but not able to identify them.
That all I have today...
If somebody have an idea.....

Thx for your help.

Best regards.

Yanick

One possibility:
1943-07-14, 3./JG 27, Bf 109G-6, 19688, Bei Montigny, Absturz nach Luftkampf mit Jäger. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer (Staffelführer) Lt Wünsch, Karl, verletzt

Re: Information about a Luftaffe plane...

Thaks for the answer and sorry for the small information availabe.
I speak today with the old guy.
I speack about 2 dead body (or more) and a twin engined aircraft.
I ask him if it was a lined or radial engined, but he was no sure maybe radial....
with lot of plexiglass, is taht could be a ME110 night fighter? 6h30 in the morning could push in that way?

Could we get more information about Lt Wünsch, Karl? Is there a possibility to confirmed Montigny as Montigny in the south of aisne, NE paris??

Thanks

Yanick

Re: Information about a Luftaffe plane...

Bonjour Yanick,

If your witness thinks radial engines and the night fighter hypothesis is followed, then this could well be either a Ju 88 C-6 or Ju 88 G-6. Both had quite an extent cockpit glazing surface.

Between 1943 and 1944, Stab and II./NJG 2 were based at Coulommiers, together with II./NJG 4, whilst I./NJG 2 was based at Chateaudun.

God luck in your research
Marc

Hello Yanick,

if you have parts, I suggest you look for markings or, even better, post pictures of them on the forum,

you will always have an expert able to identify them.

All the best

GC

Re: Information about a Luftaffe plane...

I have only this, but maybe the location is not the correct Montigny:

1940-05-17, 14.(Z)/LG 1, Bf 110C, 2811, Zwischen Pévy und Montigny nordwestlich Reims, Beschuß von Hurricane. Bruch 100 %.
Flugzeugführer Uffz Schmitt, Friedrich, + (Noyers-Pont-Maugis/Frankreich, Block 1, Grab 1059)
Bordfunker Uffz Schmidt, Heinz, + (Lommel/Belgien, Block 44, Grab 448)
