Clydeside Blitz

Hello,

I would like to say hello to everyone as I am new to the forum. What I am currently researching at the moment is the Clydeside Blitz and whilst I know where to look for the RAF side of things I would like to know where to look to find out (assuming this is possible) which Luftwaffe units and aircraft were involved and which airfields they flew from? Is this kind of information easy to find can someone tell me?

Many Thanks
KeMac1

Re: Clydeside Blitz

Keith,

You may also want to try some of Bill Norman's books such as 'Luftwaffe over the North' or visit his website.

Bill is an expert when it comes to Luftwaffe activity over the north of England etc, You can email him at

bill@billnorman.co.uk

hope this helps,

David

Re: Clydeside Blitz

... I'm very well aware of that, but if you speak with him his expertise and archives cover a wider area than that of Northern England.

Certainly worth a try!!

But there is Luftwaffe over Scotland by Les Taylor.

And there was a TV documentary on the Clydeside Blitz too but I can't remember which channel, I'm afraid.

Nick

I seem to remember it was BBC but they asked for my help but wouldn't pay for me to travel to Glasgow where they wanted to interview me!

David

Yes some of Bill's researches might link to Clydeside but his expertise are the northern England counties
