Re: Flugbuch, includig Me-262
If some one acquires this Flug buch, I would be quite greatful to know the STKZ of the Me 262 listed at the bottom of the page. ??+NN or ??+NW. Either would be in an unknown STKZ block. Thank you, Dan

Re: Flugbuch, includig Me-262
It may be that these Me 262 entries are fake. The Flugbuch was previously sold by a militaria dealer with an online shop. He still has the pilot license and other documents of this pilot. He was first in a blind flying school in summer 44 and then in a school to become a flying instructor. However, these two units didn't have any Me 262 according to www.ww2.dk. In the pilot license there is an entry dated July 1944 and made by the blind flying school that says that he is certified for blind flying on He 111 and a few other large twin-engined aircraft. The Me 262 is added there as well, but in my opinion there was no blind flying school having any Me 262 in July 1944 and the Me 262 may have been added later. I asked the seller if the Me 262 flights are confirmed by stamps and signatures, but got no reply even after asking twice. It may well be that the Me 262 entries were added after the war to make the logbook and other documents more attractive for selling. That may also explain why the +NN St.Kz. is unknown so far.

Re: Flugbuch, includig Me-262
Not unusual that flying instructors, skilled pilots, were formed on the 262, at least to ferry them, Hildesheim hs to do with the building of ferrying pilots , but an educated seller could know that ...

Re: Flugbuch, includig Me-262
Of course, the rule: "buyer beware" must always be kept in mind. We must continue to inform each other of other "suspicious" things backed up by some reasonable evidence. On eBay, I think the best approach is to contact the seller, and if no satisfactory answer is given then act accordingly.

Re: Flugbuch, includig Me-262
Like Roger, I doubt this pilot was learning blind flying in the 262. As they were training flights, he very possibly was learning to ferry 262's in April 1945. I was never able to make a complete list of every 262 STKZ, and am missing 112xxx, 113xxx and 501xxx. ??+NN will probably remain a mystery. If it is fake, the seller knows a LOT about the 262, in order to fake an unknown STKZ block.
