Fw 190 D-9, <4-+-

Hi,

I won a Fw 190 D-9 of Heller, and he comes with uncommon demarcations: &lt;4-+-

Its wr.n. it is 341164

It is given the information that belonged to Stab. /JG 51. Would anybody have profiles or information on the pilot?

Hi, Franklin,

The D-9 in question is probably W.Nr.211164.
2 Photo's of a D-9 &lt;4-+- with the above W.Nr can be found in Luftwaffe over Czech Territory 1945, pages 139 and 140.
States the aircraft was abandoned at Praha-Ruzyne and assigned to possibly the Stab/JG2 or Stab/JG6.
There are 1 or 2 other shots of this aircraft that I am aware of, but cannot recall the sources, sorry

Could be also former a/c of Stab/JG 300 or even former Stab/JG 4 a/c

I would not bet on JG 51.

In terms of pilot, in Stab flight there were always several officers and several NCOs as pilots. There is low chance to identify pilot.

I don't think this is a JG 6 aircraft. The markings are totally different then used within JG 6

The Wnr is wrong it is 211164 . This machine was found in Prague at the end of the war

The unit is not clearly defined either II./JG6 or II./JG300 or another unit to be defined . but not JG51. The known machines of JG51 are aircrafts of IV./JG51 they surrendered in Flensburg north Germany they had wavy 4 th group bar .

Both units where in the area at that time .

This machine hd a 5 pieces gun cowl , and a flat canopy .

Published pictures exist in J.Y Lorant Book " le Focke Wulf 190". and also in Japo Book Luftwaffe over Czech territory

it is a clearly wingman a/c in Geschwaderstab flight, not a II. Gruppe aircraft.
