Heinkel drawings to the USSR ?

Hello all (and especially the Russian friends),

Who does know whether the Russian aircraft industry took an active interest in getting technical papers of the (captured) German aircraft manufacturers?
When they were hunting for German rocket scientists, they might have taken a similar effort to capture all technical drawings, photographs, production stats etc. but my knowledge is limited to something I have read a long time ago about Junkers/Dessau and aircraft designs former Junkers people made in the USSR and DDR after the war.

I am especially interested in the likely capture of the Heinkel papers from Vienna and the final destination (reed: Russian aircraft manufacturer) who got this stuff. One of the stories - told at the Deutsches Museum - is that the Heinkel photo archive was moved to the USSR.

We could assume that these pictures - if still existing - are not part of a national archive, so my last straw of hope is that the Heinkel photo's can still be there in an undisclosed archive of one of Russia's aircraft manufacturers.

Any info is welcomed! All the best, Marcel

Re: Heinkel drawings to the USSR ?

As I know Junkers technicians was well involved in project of Tupolev Bear long range patrol bomber. Also from memories written in his book, Werenr von Braun did note that there was attention to escape to West, not Soviet side (no matter that rocket missiles was not used against Soviet Union).

There is much archives will fall into Soviet hands (as well all other hands) and which was transfer to Soviet Union. I think that we have here in past some topic regarding to this subjects.

Just about all of the higher level collections of captured documents and related maps, papers, drawings, blueprints, etc., went to the so-called Special Archive in Moscow. That's where David Irving found the missing Goebbels diaries, for example. It's the first place I would look.
