Steven/Matti

Foreman states that KG 1 bombed London that night (19/20.3.41).
Another I./KG 1 Heinkel also crashed at Amiens the same night on its return, WNr 5643, although only 35% damaged. I find it quite possible also "our" aircraft took part in that raid. However if it was damaged over England or simply crashed due to a pilot error is more difficult to say....

The odd thing is that Foreman doesn't mention WNr 5622 at all....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Heinz Onken

My mistake

Obviously still woozy from my holidays. WNr 5622 is mentioned by Foreman on the night of 18/19.3.41
No specific unit activities are mentioned for any bomber units this night by him but in the Blitz now and then we can see that I./KG 1 was active past midnight in a raid on Hull, so the possibillity remains that WNr 5622 was on that mission.

Cheers
Stig
