Ju 88 WNr 2083

Hi ll,

Does anybody have information about a belly landing of Ju 88 WNr 2083 during 1940? Not the one on May 24th 1941, but one in 1940?

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Rudi,

No info on that W.Nr. for a Ju88 in the EoE Luft Loss DB. Only for a Bf110.

Re: Ju 88 WNr 2083

Like Larry, I have nothing for a Ju 88, but if the machine was lost prior to late-August, it's very unlikely the WNr. was recorded for the loss. If after that time, it was assessed as under 10% damaged, it may well not have been reported either. Any idea which unit it was with?

not much, "belly landing" is new to me. Does photo show this number for certain?

Re: Ju 88 WNr 2083

It was a Ju88A-1 coded B3+AL with the A in black and outlined in yellow or white. The WNr 2083 can be seen on the tail. It belly landed at Evreux in August 1940.

Rudi.

Re: Ju 88 WNr 2083

The KG 54 history mentions two Ju88's of I/KG54 in crash landings at Evreux on 13-8-40 following fighter attack one 40% and the other 50%. Both crews shown as uninjured unfortunately no aircraft codes or werk nummers known,
